Weather update from the BOM

The BOM has said that the heavy rainfall will continue until mid-afternoon where there will be an easing trend into the evening.

Abra Shabren from the BOM told the Lismore App that the rainfall was widespread across the Northern Rivers with Lismore recording 127mm in the last 24 hours to 9am this morning while Nimbin recorded 119mm at the Goolmangar Creek gauge.

Emma Lancaster has posted some fantastic photos of some full creeks on the Nimbin Hook Ups Discussion Board.

While we won't know the full impact that this rainfall has had on our dams until Monday, it certainly looks to be a positive sign in lifting water levels.

Mr Shabren said Sunday should have some more showers but nothing what we have seen in the last 48 hours (Weather, Weather Radar)

While the rainfall is positive for most it is not good news for our sporting people and the Lismore Speedway. The facebook page said "Glorious Rain is falling over the Northern Rivers, how exciting.!!!!!" but then went on to say that tonights meeting has been cancelled. Full details in Sport (Thank Lismore Speedway for breaking the drought!)
