You can be at the GABBA for the first ball of this year's Test Series versus South Africa on December 17 and help a very worthwhile charity at the same time.

The Gilchrist Foundation is a relatively new charity (launching on November 21 last year) supporting educational and sporting scholarships for students of all backgrounds and disadvantages.

The Foundation has been established by the Gilchrist Family, with the mission of identifying eligible students and young sportsmen and women and assisting them to further their education or skills through financial assistance and active engagement and mentoring.

A way to help the Gilchrist Foundation raise more funds is by buying a ticket to the opening day of the Australia versus South Africa Test Match on Saturday 17th December 2022.

You will be watching a full day's play in style as The Gilchrist Foundation is securing a private outdoor box for the first day of the test match in Brisbane.

The package will include;

·        Reserved seating in a 10 person Outdoor Box at the Gabba

·        Bus transfer to and from the Gabba from a central point in Lismore

·        Food throughout the day from the Gabba Light Bites menu

·        Beverages throughout the day within the Outdoor Box including beer, light beer, wine and soft drinks with other drinks available at a nearby bar

·        A private visit to the Outdoor Box from Adam Gilchrist in one of the breaks in play for autograph and photo opportunities

·        Profit from the day will support our programs for disadvantaged students and sporting scholarships.

The cost is $845 with a large portion going to the Gilchrist Foundation.

Founder Stan Gilchrist told the Lismore App, "This is the chance for ten lucky people to have a cricketing experience they will remember for quite some time as well as help people that are looking for someone to give them a chance in life so they can improve themselves and their circumstances."

"We need some entertainment to have a break from what has been an incredibly tough year, we feel this is the perfect opportunity to do just that," Stan said.

The slogan for the Gilchrist Foundation is "We FIND, we FUND and we FOSTER". This is the "We fund" part of the equation.

It is first come, first served for the tickets so contact Julie Burton by email at manager@gilchrist.foundation or phone 0431 764 776 or Stan Gilchrist at email stan@gilchrist.foundation  or on 0412 664 617.
