Tom Parsons and Brendan Mitchell both took four wicket hauls for Marist Brothers in their win over the Ballina Bears.
Marist Brothers bowled out the Bears for 220, taking a 53 run win, after posting 273 last week.
The day did not start as Brothers had planned, with the Ballina top order knuckling down before Owen Bensley struck, taking the wicket of Hamish Clacher for 33.
Fellow opener Craig Twinane (30) and captain Sam Norris (54) also showed strong resilience against the Brothers attack.
It was spinner Tom Parsons who took 4/60 off a marathon 22 overs and opening bowler Brendan Mitchell, who chimed in with 4/72 off 18.2 overs who were the chief destroyers for Brothers.
Bensley had 1/26 off 7 overs and the other wicket was taken by Ashley Simes who had 1/27 off 8 overs.
The win was an important one for Marist Brothers who stay in contact with the top four teams in the LJ Hooker League two day competition.
Marist Brothers play host to Pottsville next week at Oakes Oval and Goonellabah Workers Sports will travel to Dave Burns Field to take on the ladder leading Tweed Banora Colts.
Both matches will be played across Saturday and Sunday next weekend.
