Woolworths decision to remove Norco milk from 150 of its supermarkets in Sydney has angered local politicians.

It was only this morning that the Lismore App announced Norco won a Champion Award for its Lactose Free Milk at the 2024 Australian Grand Dairy Awards for the sixth consecutive year.

Federal Member for Page, the Hon Kevin Hogan MP has slammed Woolworths saying, "They are sourcing their six-pack mini ice cream sticks from Slovenia! And their 1-litre tubs from New Zealand.

"They don't like Australia Day. They don't support our region. Please don't support them."

Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin called it 'BLOODY OUTRAGEOUS - SHAME ON WOOLWORTHS FOR AXING NORCO AT 90 STORES'

"If price gouging at the checkout wasn’t bad enough, there are reports that multi-billion and multinational corporation Woolworths have decided to axe NORCO. 

" NORCO employs over 130 locals, have just rebuilt their factory and are an institution for our local dairy farmers. 

" I call on Woolies to reverse this decision and give NORCO and our farmers a fair go as our community still recovers from floods, drought and fires."

It is understood that Norco Milk will still be stocked in Woolworths stores north of Sydney including the Northern Rivers and southeast Queensland.

A spokesperson from Norco said, "Norco can confirm that its 100% farmer-owned milk brand has recently been removed from approximately 150 Woolworths Supermarkets in central Sydney.

In response, Woolworths did commit to some expanded product distribution in Queensland, which we appreciate.
