Our History

Lismore Sewing Centre, Originally Singer sewing centre was taken over by Douglas Woodrow in 1969.

He ran the shop in Woodlark street for a large number of years and eventually was joined by Florence in the early 90’s.

Over time, the business expanded to include selling Pfaff, Husqvarna, Janome and Horn cabinets as well as the Singer brand.

Douglas and Florence retired in 2017 and the shop is now owned and run by Nicole Ansell, their daughter.

After the huge flood in 2022 decimated Lismore, the shop was moved to its new current location at 48a Keen street.

Nicole has many years of experience in mechanical work and sales experience.

Florence and Douglas still help with repair work occasionally and Douglas can do all on-site industrial machine repairs.

With over 85 years of experience in the family, there are very few issues that cannot be solved.
