Illuminate Nimbin Festival lights up the streets this Friday

The winter solstice or the shortest day of the year is tomorrow and the winter festival will be in full swing this week.

As we wrote about yesterday the Lismore Lantern Parade is on Saturday in the CBD (2022 Lismore Lantern Parade: only six days to go) and the Illuminate Nimbin Festival is on Friday, June 24.

Illuminate Nimbin is a mid-winter celebration of the eclectic and vivid street life of Nimbin.

The Festival will be held on Cullen Street and will feature an array of entertainment such as buskers and street performers, food stalls, light displays, bands and DJ’s in the hall, kids zone with face painting, world-renowned magician Rosanna Valentina, free food tasting and much more.

The event starts at 3.30pm and finishes at 9pm.

Illuminate Nimbin is supported by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry & Environment through the Festival of Place - Summer Night Fund.

This event is a Nimbin Chamber of Commerce initiative, supported by Lismore City Council. It has provided an opportunity for the Council to work alongside the Chamber on a specific, local initiative to support the renewal of Nimbin a dynamic and flourishing business centre.
