$10,000 worth of gear stolen from Lismore Men's Shed

"Guttered, totally gutted that some low life has done that to the public," those were the words used by Lismore Men's and Community Shed President Bob Greig to describe how he felt after their storage shed was broken into and close to $10,000 worth of items stolen.

"We do the public a service, it's unbelievable," Bob added.

The Lismore Men's and Community Shed has a new home in Industrial Drive, East Lismore but they were still using the old shed in Norco Lane to store some gear while East Lismore was being organised to be fully operational. It is a little ironic that Bob told the Lismore App they were only a week away from moving the gear from South Lismore to East Lismore.

(Nothing but empty shelves at the Norco Lane storage shed)

"We were there Tuesday afternoon at 3 and got back at 10 this morning to discover the place had been broken into," Bob said.

The list of items stolen were:

  • Large R2D2 Tool Cabinet (with tools)
  • Large Stage Light Set
  • MIG Welder (Boss 380)
  • Welding Helmets
  • Karcher Surface Grinder/Scrubber
  • LED Lighting Kits
  • BT50 Spring Sets
  • Motorbike Stands and Lifters
  • Heavy Duty Stainless Ramp Set
  • Mark Bass Speaker System
  • 2 x ProSet Amplifiers
  • Sound Mixers Set
  • Quad Bike Parts
  • Hand/Power Tools
  • Lock and Key Sets
  • Veh Side Steps

Police have been called with Bob saying he is waiting to be interviewed plus there are security cameras at Norco so hopefully footage will clearly display the person or people involved.

In the meantime, if you can help the Lismore Men's and Community Shed by donating any of the lost items, get in touch with Bob Greig on 0404 860 504 or pop into their premises on Industrial Drive, East Lismore opposite Bostock's on Rifle Range Road Tuesday's and Thursday's between 8am and 2:30pm.
