Wollongbar Rugby Union support junior pathwaysFormer Queensland Red and current Western Force player Jake McIntyre will be a special guest at the Wollongbar/Alstonville Rugby Club function.

The Wollongbar Alstonville Rugby Club (WAR) Life Members are proud and excited to announce that they are putting on a special night of inspiration and achievements from WAR players.

The night will showcase the numerous pathways for juniors to achieve their goals in the sport of Rugby Union.

The night will feature two club juniors who are now Super Rugby players Jake McIntyre (Western Force) and Matt Gibbons (Melbourne Rebels).

The club is inviting and encouraging as many of their supporters, players, coaches and friends to attend.

McIntyre was selected for the Australian Schoolboys rugby team in 2011 and 2012. He made his Super Rugby debut for the Queensland Reds against the Melbourne Rebels in 2015.

McIntyre completed a four year stint in France before he returned to Australia and is currently playing with the Western Force

All proceeds of the night goes to supporting juniors.

There will also be a special junior coaching clinic held from 5pm on the day with both Matt and Jake and other WAR legends.

Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Alex Gibbons.

Alex is also a Wollongbar junior, and played for the Queensland Reds, going on to play Rugby 7's for Australia.

There will be plenty of healthy banter and some great stories.
