Lismore Rugby Union Club at home for Round 1Lismore Rugby Union's inspirational captain Brendan Williams is having to sit out the 2021 season with recurring headaches.

Far North Coast Rugby Union has released its round 1 fixtures and handed Lismore Rugby Union club a home draw against Bangalow on Saturday, April 10.


Coach Ray Taylor starting his final year, said the numbers at training "have been good".


"We had 50-odd men and women at training and now I have to start at looking to put a good side together. I am working on adding a bit of quality to the side," he said.


"We have Bangalow, then Casino, so that is something to look forward to."


Taylor revealed that his inspirational captain Brendan Williams is still suffering from headaches and is not being considered.


"Brendan is hard to replace. He always gives 110 per cent and leads everyone around the paddock. he has been a fantastic player for the club and everyone wishes him well.


"My task is to find another leader."


Far North Coast Rugby Union Zone First Round fixtures on April 10 are:


Lismore v Bangalow,

Lennox Head v Casuarina Beach,

Wollongbar Alstonville v Ballina

Casino v Grafton


Far North Coast Rugby Union Administration Officer Wayne Millane said that the Under 18s Colts is being expanded to an eight club competition.


The FNC Women's Competition at this stage is a four club competition.
