The Weekend Wrap

The weekend weather will be much the same as it has been this week with a maximum of 27 degrees and a 60% chance of rain. The expected rainfall is only 2-3mm so definitely is not going to ruin any New Year's Eve celebrations or the end of any camping trips on the Monday public holiday.

Here's a list of New Year's Eve celebrations:

  • Alstonville Family Festival between 5pm and 10pm at the Showgrounds (6 South Street). Free parking, street food, live entertainment, rides and fireworks at 9pm.

  • Glitterati are at the Goonellabah Sports Club on Oliver Avenue from 6pm playing all the dance anthems from the 70s, 80s to now.

  • NYE Open Mic Party is on at the Dunoon Sports Club from 6pm. Musicians can bring their own instruments.

  • Mary G's has DJ Brento from 9pm to late.

  • The Metropole has Hayley Grace and the Bay Collective from 8pm downstairs and DJ Ovals upstairs.

  • The Goonellabah Tavern has The Blinders rocking in the New Year between 9pm and 12am.

  • The Falls Festival is on at Byron for three days starting tomorrow with the Arctic Monkeys, Little Nas X and loads more.

A reminder that the police will be on the street and the roads on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

There are no Lismore Farmers Markets on tomorrow, they will return next Saturday, January 7 between 8am and 11:30am.

There is also no Lismore Car Boot Market on Sunday once again and no announcement has been made for a return date in 2023.

The first Sunday market of the year will be The Channon Markets next Sunday, January 8.

It has been a quiet week around Lismore and will be this weekend with most people taking holidays over the Christmas/NY period.
