In anticipation of possible severe weather later this week, the NSW SES is holding a Lismore community preparedness meeting tomorrow, Wednesday May 11.

The meeting will be a briefing for the possible weather and is based on preparedness for such weather, should it occur.

All Lismore residents are invited to attend the meeting at 6pm at the Whitebrook Theatre, Southern Cross University.

A NSW SES spokesperson said the aim of the meeting is to ensure the Lismore community has timely and direct communication with the NSW SES Lismore City Unit and are receiving information that may assist in preparing themselves and their homes.

"The SES is encouraging people to get ready and ensure that their property, family, friends and loved ones are prepared for severe weather, should it eventuate," the spokesperson said.

"We are asking that the community keeps up-to date with the latest information from the NSW SES, the Bureau of Meteorology and LiveTraffic NSW."
