Get ready to munch on Mexican food, because a new burrito bar is set to open in the Lismore Central Shopping Centre.
Hailed as the newest burrito bar in the country, the new business is part of a chain of 36 burrito bars that launched across Australia in 2011.
Owned and operated by Laxman (Lucky) Chowdary, the new Lismore Burrito Bar on Carrington Street will be the third in NSW to open. Other NSW locations include Ballina Central and Grafton.
A Burrito Bar spokesperson told The Lismore App that the official opening date has not yet been set.
But when it does open, it will also include an ice cream and dessert kiosk, ‘Sweet Republick’ – as well as a second hospitality venue Smokin Burgers n’ Ribs.
"Due to lockdown, construction has been paused and we do not have a planned date, however we hope to open late this year," the spokesperson said.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in coming to Lismore for quite some time now, and have been simply waiting for the right opportunity,” the spokesperson said.
“With the area growing so rapidly, we thought it was time to bring our multi-venue concept to Lismore.
“Our food is inspired from the streets of San Francisco, where amazing blends of traditional Mexican street foods came to mix.
“We are looking forward to serving the Lismore Community and can’t wait to serve you our famous wings, tacos and ribs.”
Part of the Burrito Bar’s cheap food deals will be on ‘Wings Wednesdays’ with 50c wings on offer.
Other special foods as advertised on the Burrito bar Facebook site include grilled achiote marinated chicken served with a side of Mexican fries – and crispy potato fries coated in Mexican seasoning with lashings of chipotle mayo.
