It's not the biggest news story in Lismore, however, it has been a talking point for a number of years and especially since the Lismore Square reopened with Big W on June 16.
The Lismore Square amenities/toilets has reopened today.
The upgrade was needed and the February flood provided an opportunity to plan and complete a total refurbishment with quite spectacular results.
All three rooms, that is ladies and men's toilets plus the parents room all look into the newly constructed atrium.
Lismore Square owners, McConaghy Properties are being tight lipped on the money spent but when you see the Italian granite and the atrium built as the centre piece you can start to imagine the dollars involved.
The beautiful artwork is hand painted by Tillman Creative Co at the entrance to the amenities.
In other Lismore Square news, the Food Court furniture will be arriving at the end of October so should be completed by mid-November.
A number of people have thought that what is in place is permanent, it's not. However, the circular lighting and plants is the new look for the Food Court.
McDonalds is the only food being served currently but a few weeks away is Mayumi's Kitchen (serving Japanese food), Happy Dough (gluten free donuts) and Asian Feast.
Parradise Massage is the new store opening today, situated opposite Woolworths.
Another major bank has chosen to relocate from the CBD into Lismore Square.
The Commonwealth Bank has signage up on hoardings near Coles saying it will open in December 2022.
Some more good news for access to the Lismore Square from the car park. The travelators that come out near Priceline will be in action within a couple of weeks after being completely rebuilt.
