For a decade the Newcastle Permanent Lego Challenge has been at the Lismore Show, and this year young people are entering with enthusiasm in the hopes to be the 2022 Champion Builder!

With LEGO prizes for the winners of each heat, and big wins for the finals, there are juniors (3-7yrs) heats at 10:30am, 12:30pm and the Final for this age group at 2:30pm Saturday.

The older kids are on for their heats at 11am, and 1:30pm with the grand final on at 3:30pm for this age group.

Newcastle Permanent, who sponsor the event, says that as a complete financial institution, it is a core part of their values to support the community, particularly those who are disadvantaged, or people living with a disability, and community and sporting initiatives, giving back to the community.

The competition was fierce on Friday with the winner, Zeke age 12, taking out the 1st prize in the last heat of the day with his special turtle creation, a Super Mario Turtle complete with Lismore Heart Flag he had been working on.

Far North Coast Baseball have got their inflatable pitching and batting nets for young and old to come and try a hit for free, with prizes for those who hit certain targets. Kids were lining up to have a try, and FNC says their Twilight Sessions starting on Monday have already started to get registrations as kids want to try the sport for 5 weeks this term.
