Kevin Hogan gets new role under Nat's leader David Littleproud

The new-look Shadow Ministry was announced on yesterday (Sunday, June 5) with a significant reshuffle of roles throughout the Coalition which included a significant role for Member for Page Kevin Hogan.

The Nationals announced six new Shadow Cabinet Ministers, with an additional two in the Outer Shadow Ministry and three new Shadow Assistant Ministers.

Of the ten newly appointed roles within The Nationals team, five were women.

Fresh off the back of being selected as the new Leader of the National Party, David Littleproud heralded the latest appointments as the future of the party.

“Our Shadow Ministry reflects the wealth of experience, talent and energy we have within our party room.” Mr Littleproud said.

"I think over the next three years, it's important you have a team that's renewed, that has generational changes, is thinking about a modern Australia and how we fit in that and the policies we bring forward."

Within the list, Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan was announced as taking on the important role of Trade and Tourism.

"I am very humbled to be appointed to the role of Shadow Trade and Tourism Minister within Shadow Cabinet, " Mr Hogan said, "and while this is a huge honour, I want to emphasise that the flood recovery is my number one focus and there is still a long journey ahead."

Mr Hogan believes his experience in finance as an investment officer for a Super fund will give him strong insight into the Trade sector of his new role along with his knowledge of the strong local export industries like beef, macadamias and blueberries.

As for tourism, Mr Hogan said the sector has been severely hit over the last two years of COVID so it is important that tourists return to Australia as soon as possible.

"As Shadow Minister, I will be encouraging the government to build growth in both sectors as quickly as they can," Mr Hogan added.

"I will continue to champion the everyday needs of the community as the Member for Page as we navigate our way forward during the flood recovery process."
