CWA Christmas Hampers and Jams set to bring some cheer this year

The CWA (Country Women's Association) Evening Branch has 23 members and all have been working diligently to create some delectable homemade Christmas Hampers that would make the ideal gift for friends or family. You would be helping the disadvantaged in our community at the same time.

The CWA has been part of Lismore since December 1924, two years after the formation of the CWA of NSW in 1922. They have played an important role in our society improving the lives of women and children in rural areas and for disaster relief assistance such as floods, drought or bushfires.

This year, all funds raised will go to purchasing petrol and food vouchers for flood-affected people, as we all know many are still struggling with housing and being displaced since February 28.

You can choose from:

Trio of Preserves - $25 in a presentation box and includes vintage spoon. Homemade marmalades, chutney and preserves from the CWA Evening Branch cooks.

Christmas Delights Hamper - $70 including rum balls, shortbread, gingerbread, mini cake, Christmas bark, preserved lemons, onion and thyme relish, jam for ham, chilli vinegar, cheese biscuits in a presentation box. We also have 15 small ceramic Christmas Trees as table decorations for the first 15 orders placed. (Products will be substituted if necessary)

To place an order, email cwachristmashampers@gmail.com,

Include your name, address, phone number and quantities of your chosen gifts. We will reply and arrange a collection date with you. We will also send you our bank details so you can make a direct deposit.

Orders can be collected from St Andrew's Anglican Church Hall, Zadoc Street, Lismore on December 14 and 15 between 3pm and 6pm.

You have two weeks to place your orders with the last orders to be placed by Friday, December 9.

The CWA apologises for not being able to post your order. They also lost their rooms in the February 28 flood in the CBD so currently meet at St Andrew's on the 2nd Monday of the month.

You can get in touch with the CWA Lismore Evening Branch on 0412 349 903.
