100 additional bus services for Lismore network start Monday

Regular public transport users will be pleased with tomorrow's (Monday's) launch of an additional 100 services to the Lismore Bus network commencing on Monday 16th January.

To spread the word in the community, an event is planned at the Transit Centre on Molesworth Street tomorrow with a sausage sizzle, face painting, trivia & prizes from 10:30am to 1:30pm.

The improvements have been made under the 16 Regional Cities Bus Improvements program (https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/projects/programs/16-regional-cities-services-improvement-program)

In summary, the changes are as follows:

  • 100 additional services per week - from 500 to 600 services, an increase of 20%
  • A service every 30 mins between Lismore and Goonellabah – on weekdays & Saturdays
  • B-Conx on demand available seven days per week – this includes public holidays
  • B-Conx aligns to the 661 Lismore to Ballina – less wait time
  • Later services and services at more regular intervals - improvements on public routes operated by Northern Rivers Buslines
  • Car parking will not be impacted - Bus stops mostly remain unchanged. Minor change at Emigrant Creek, West Ballina to operate seven days; and Lismore Lake Holiday Park in South Lismore will no longer be serviced due to no residents after the 2022 floods.
