Zonta hosts Crew Garden Open Day this weekend

With temperatures moving into the mid- and high-20s, gardens in Lismore and the Northern Rivers are looking spectacular.

The Zonta Club is offering you the chance to look the amazing Crew Garden in Uralba, as well as raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

The Crew Garden is a subtropical paradise with meandering paths and lush gardens with some rare and interesting plants.

The garden is open this weekend:

  • Saturday: 9am to 4pm
  • Sunday: 9am to 2pm

Entry is $12 or $10 concession, with children under 16 free.

You will enjoy the collection of palms, heliconias, ornamental gingers, bamboo, begonias, aroids, clivias, euphorbias, calatheas, orchids and zingibers. They also have a cut flower farm, orchard, veggies and other edibles.

In the words of the Zonta Club, "There is something here for everyone!"

Morning and afternoon tea is available, and an on-site plant sale.

Money raised goes to providing much-needed funds for local ZONTA projects and services for women and girls in our community.

Zonta funds women-only safe rooms in local court houses, a Zonta room at Lismore Base Hospital for mothers and the family of stillborn babies, counselling vouchers for needy women, a scholarship for an SCU student studying for a degree in Social Justice or Social Work and many other projects.

THE DETAILS:

Spring Open Day at Crew Garden, 131 Platypus Drive, Uralba.

This Saturday (9am to 4pm) and Sunday (9am to 2pm)
