While our bush fires are under control for now in the 2480 postcode, spare a thought for our southern neighbours in Woodburn and Evans Head.

Today the New Italy bush fires are out of control and are being driven by a southerly wind moving the bush fire threat towards Woodburn and Evans Head. Residents are being warned by the NSW RFS to leave their homes if their property is not prepared for or is undefendable while others are asked to monitor the situation closely. The fire is very large at more than 93,270 hectares and burning out of control.

Some people have family and friends living in these areas as well as areas closer to the fire hot spots in New Italy and further south towards holiday areas like Iluka and Yamba. We will leave the Lismore App Bush Fire button live for the next few weeks in case anyone wants some immediate information on your smartphone. We have added the Woodburn RFS Facebook page as a link plus Live Traffic NSW as road closures are changing constantly.

The Lismore App will keep you up to date as the holiday season approaches in terms of traffic conditions as we head towards the Christmas break.
