Women's Golf is on the rise across the region and Lismore is playing a big part in its success.
The club ran Introduction to Golf/Returning to Golf Clinics in November, and were conducted over 3 weeks by Lismore Golf Professional Peter Jaeger.
Dianne Cahill, Lismore's Women's Golf Captain was happy with the outcome.
"We had an amazing response, with 50 ladies and juniors ranging in age from 11 years upwards, participating. It was obviously too many ladies for Peter to look after by himself, so he was ably assisted by a couple of our Community Instructors & experienced members."
"Almost two thirds of the participants were new to golf and the other third were returning after 10 to 15 years break due to family or work commitments. There was a very positive vibe during the Clinic sessions and participant-feedback was very positive."
"Participants will be encouraged to access small-group skill-specific coaching sessions in February 2024 to help fine tune their skills."
Another Introduction to Golf/Returning to Golf Clinic is planned for February next year, with most places already filled by ladies / juniors who missed out on our November 2023 Clinic.

In another positive for the club, Lismore Women's Club member Allysen Weaver has qualified in Division 2 for the Women’s NSW Medal competition.
Weaver played in the State Final at Sonecutters Ridge Golf Club in Sydney last Wednesday and won Division 2 (Country) and was narrowly beaten on a countback for Overall Winner.
The club has also been approached to run a ladies event in 2024 as a fundraiser for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
