Woman dies in hospital following crash near Grafton

A woman has died in hospital following a crash at Whiteman Creek, about 21km northwest of Grafton, last week.


About 2:45pm on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, emergency services were called to Clarence Way following reports of a crash.



On arrival, officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District located a Nissan Navara that had crashed into a tree.


The driver – a 71-year-old woman – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being flown to Gold Coast Hospital in a critical condition.



Police have since been notified that the woman died in hospital on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.


Inquiries into the crash are continuing, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
