Woman allegedly punched, bitten and choked to unconsciousness

A Lismore man has been arrested after an alleged violent domestic assault.

"Police will allege that at 5.30am on Wednesday a 21-year-old Lismore man has become involved in an argument with a woman known to him at a North Lismore address," crime prevention officer Senior Constable David Henderson said in a post on the Richmond PD Facebook page.

"The 21-year-old has punched her to the back of the head, the face and bitten her on the shoulder blade. He then choked her until she passed out, and broke her phone.

"Police arrested the man later that day.

"He was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with Breach AVO, Intentionally Choke Person, Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Destroy Property.

"He has been bail refused by police and the Court, and will appear in Lismore Local Court in October."
