The Wilsons River may reach around 5.2 metres this evening (Tuesday) with minor flooding according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
There is the possibility of further rises but that depends largely on rainfall in the next 8 to 10 hours.
There are two new road closures to add to this mornings list (Tuesday Minor Flood Warning: Here's the latest)
Lismore City Council has closed the Brown’s Creek Flood Gate and the pumps activated in accordance with Council's levee procedure.
Staff will continue to monitor rainfall and water levels inside the levee.
Since 9am Lismore has received 11.4mm at the airport which is well below yesterdays forecast of 50-80mm. Of course, there is still the potential for heavy falls with the weather warning current for the Northern Rivers for damaging wind and heavy rain but there is sunshine behind the trough.
(The BOM weather radar at 2pm today showing clear skies once the trough clears)
So, all being equal, when we wake up tomorrow morning the skies should be clear and the sun shining to begin the drying process.
If you haven't already looked, the BOM are saying five days of sunshine is in store with the weekend looking to be the first fine weekend in a number of weeks. Maybe there will be the sound of sport echoing from sporting fields once again, let's see how the grounds dry out (Weather).
You will be hit by a temperature increase tomorrow as the mercury is expected to hit a summery 31 degrees.
Until we get to that magical moment, there is still water over the roads with some closures so we are not out of the woods yet.
