Lismore's Cooper Williams will captain the NSW PSSA Boys Cricket team at the School Sports Australia 12 Years and Under Cricket Championships in Ballarat this week.
Williams has been in great form in both junior and senior cricket locally, including an interdistrict century against Ballina recently.
Cooper impressed in local, regional and state school trials which resulted in his selection in the NSW PSSA team adding the captaincy to his growing resume.
The Championships commence on Saturday with the Opening Ceremony before the first ball being bowled on Sunday.
The NSW side opens the tournament with T/20 matches against Victoria Blue and Victoria White.
The competition then moves into 40 over a side games, with NSW taking on South Australia on Monday, Queensland on Tuesday, ACT on Wednesday and concluding the round matches on Thursday against Western Australia.
Friday will see the final day playoffs, with Williams hoping that he will be leading NSW into the final.
Cooper scored 81 in a huge partnership with father Troy who plundered 166 for Marist Brothers Third Grade in the 222 run win over Evans Head last Saturday.
