This Monday Boils (boys) and Ghouls (girls) and their parents/caregivers will be hitting the streets of Lismore later tonight dressed up for the annual Halloween Trick-or-Treating.. if they so dare!
Halloween and dressing up to celebrate for some is one way we create great memories for our future souls (selves). But why do children dress in costume and knock on strangers' doors to ask for treats or else be tricked, on Halloween? The practice can be traced to the ancient Celts, early Roman Catholics and 17th-century British politics, and then featured within popular culture in North America, where they certainly do, take this ritual very seriously.
In Australia, it is growing in popularity as a way to commemorate a special time of year with more families getting dressed up to do something out of the norm then looking for participating houses in the quest for lollies and chocolates.
The Lismore app has found some places to get you started on your Trick-or-treating adventures.. but if you happen to know of a special place to visit, please get in touch by emailing: content@lismoreapp.com.au and we will add it to the list.
