Wet weather wreaks havoc on local cricket

Lismore and District Cricket Association have announced a number of wash outs and ground changes for Saturday's round.

Lismore and Casino Councils have struggled to prepare turf wickets with the intermittent rain and wet weather and the following games have either been moved or washed out this weekend.

  • QE2 Casino v Goonellabah (1st Grade)
  • QE7 Casino v Marist Brothers (2nd Grade)
  • The 3rd Grade game between CCC and GWSCC has been moved to Adam Gilchrist Oval.
  • Nielson Park - Workers Grey v Kyogle (2nd Grade)
  • Nesbitt Park - Workers Maroon v Evans Head (2nd Grade)
  • Rec 8 - MBCC v Norths (1st Grade)

The LJ Hooker match between Marist Brothers and Murwillumbah that was to be played in Murwillumbah has been washed out, with Goonellabah Workers Sports match against Lennox Head at Oakes Oval still to be determined.

Council's have prepared synthetics wickets but each ground will be assessed the wet weather committee to determine the playability of the synthetic pitches.

This will include bowler run ups and the amount of water still in the pitches.

Teams will also keep an eye on the rain radar with a large rain band currently sitting north of Brisbane.
