Wet weather set to continues as rain increasesThe low pressure system across most of Queensland will affect the Northern Rivers in the next three days

Lismore and the Northern Rivers is in store for a wet three days as the low-pressure system over northern Queensland moves eastward and further south.

The Lismore airport recorded 42.4mm to 7:30 this morning, much more than was previously forecast.

As the low continues its path across Queensland, causing major flooding to northern and central parts of the state, there is a 90% chance of rain today with a 3-20mm forecast.

(The map at 10am Saturday morning shows the low into NSW)

The chance of rain increases to 95% for Friday and Saturday, with a range of 10-35mm and 15-60mm, respectively, from northeasterly winds.

The rain has been downgraded to a shower or two for Sunday, when we may see some sunshine amongst 0-10mm of rain.

Unfortunately, each day next week we could well see more rain as the 'shower or two' forecast continues.

At this stage, there are no warnings from the Bureau of Meteorology, so although we could see up to 100mm in the next three days, it will not lead to a flood warning.
