This weekend is scheduled to see all football activity across the Football Far North Coast footprint in full swing, as MiniRoos games are due to commence and all junior and senior football is set to continue.
The impact of wet weather continues to taunt local sport and despite sunshine this week, many fields remain soft and are currently unplayable.
Assessment of conditions will be necessary at all venues and despite the FFNC wet weather protocol stating that ‘fields are open unless specifically advised as being closed’, the reality is that the situation is very different.
Each club while make their own judgements, but with further wet weather forecast across the weekend, more matches may be postponed.
It is already a challenge rescheduling the matches for Football Far North Coast in the senior competitions, and with the possibility of further washouts, mid-week matches will be inevitable.
In Men's Premier League, Richmond Rovers will host Bangalow in East Lismore on Saturday afternoon and the Goonellabah Hornets will head to Maclean to tackle the Bobcats.
South Lismore will tackle newly crowned Anzac Day Cup champions, Mullumbimby Brunswick Valley on Sunday afternoon.
