The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been kept busy early in the festive season holidays with two hospital transportations yesterday.
Around 5.00pm yesterday (Monday, 23 December), the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a motor vehicle accident near Casino.
A man in his 30s was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter's critical care medical team for multiple injuries before being transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.
Around 9.00pm yesterday, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from Grafton Hospital to Gold Coast University Hospital.
A woman in her 40s, suffering from a critical medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff, the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Gold Coast.
