Just after 5:30pm yesterday afternoon the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by New South Wales Ambulance to reports of a 60 year old male fallen 15 metres from a cliff at the Razorback Lookout, Evans Head.



It was reported that the male had fallen whilst gaining access to rocks below during a fishing outing. Local Ambulance Paramedics and Emergency Services attended the scene but due to the steep cliff were unable to access the male.


Due to the limited access the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team were winch inserted to the patient to commence treatment.


The male was treated for suspected spinal injuries, multiple fractures and a head injury.


Once stabilised the male was stretcher winch from the cliff and flown direct to the Princess Alexandria Hospital, Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.
