This week's weather is more of the same, with a possible shower all week and a range of 0-4mm at best.
It would be nice for the rain to stay away on Saturday for Lismore's richest horse race, the NSW Country Championships at the Lismore Turf Club. Just as id did for the Legends of Cricket Tewnty20 on Saturday.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued its March to May forecast....
As most locals know, traditionally, our wettest months of the year are February and March. February has a mean rainfall of 183.6mm, while March's is 188.4mm.
So far in February, 112mm of rain has fallen at the Lismore Airport, with 96mm falling last Thursday morning. So, barring any major weather event, we could end up near the February 2024 total of 115.8mm.
For the three months, March to May, the forecast is for it to be hotter and wetter than usual.
The median rainfall for the three-month period is 471.6mm, and the likelihood of above median rainfall is 57%, with unusually wet (greater than 814mm) only 22%.
We recorded 181.8mm in March 2024.
When talking about maximum temperatures, the chance of a warmer March to May is a lot stronger.
The chance of above median temperatures, that is greater than 25.2 degrees is 98%, while the chance of n unusually warm median (25.7 degrees) is 37%.
In summary, if the weather pans out like the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting, we will have a comfortable three months with no extremes.
