Thirteen-year-old Tylah Crabtree broke the 100 metres breaststroke record twice and the 200 metres individual medley record at the NSW Combined High Schools state swimming championships being held at Sydney Aquatic Centre.
The Rivers Secondary College Lismore High Campus pupil clocked 1.13.72 in a 100m breaststroke heat, smashing the old record of 1.14.98 set in 1990.
Then in the final Tylah, who is a member of Trinity Lismore Swimming Club, broke her new record with a time of 01.13.36 - the second fastest time she has swam.
Then she broke the 200m individual medley record held by Australian swimmer Abbey Harkins (currently the fifth fastest 200m IM swimmer in the world). tylah's time was 2.24.41
Tylah achieved four gold medals, for finishing first in the 100 metres breaststroke, finishing first in the 100 metres backstroke. first in the 200 metres individual medley and first in the 400 metres individual medley.
She received a silver medal in the 50 metre freestyle, and two bronze medals for the 200 metres individual medley (age 12-14) and 200 metre freestyle.
Tylah will represent Lismore High Campus at the All Schools Swimming Championships in May.
She will first though compete at Swimming Australia's National Age Championships in Adelaide from April 15.
"Tylah goes to Adelaide tomorrow. She's a bit sick with a cold but swimming very well," said Trinity Lismore Swimming Club's head Coach Simon Watkins.
"We are continuing to work on skills and speed and expand her events so that she has a very wide base and can end swimming well over all strokes and distances."
Tylah competing in the NSW Country Long Course Championships won four gold and two silver medals. She broke three NSW Country records and was named female swimmer of the meet.
She is also the first swimmer from Trinity Lismore to be selected onto a NSW Swimming squad, the Junior Sharks.
