Trinity Catholic College basketballers Jackson Ware and Toby Barlow have been named in the initial Under 18 NSW Country Men’s Basketball Squad to contest the 2021 Under 18 Australian Junior
Basketball Championships in Werribee, Victoria in April next year.
The squad of 25 will be narrowed down in January to a team of 10 and five reserves, with both athletes impressing NSW selectors at recent trials in Maitland.
The trials saw over 140 male and female athletes from Byron Bay to Albury challenge themselves with the goal of donning the blue of NSW at the National Championships.
Jackson Ware plays for Byron Beez in the Northern Junior League Competition.
Both Jackson and Toby represent the Byron Beez in the Northern Junior League Competition, which was cancelled this year due to COVID -19 precautions.
Toby Barlow also named Trinity Catholic College's Open Marist Basketball Team to contest the Australian Marist Championships.
It will be a busy 2021 for both boys as they have recently been named in the College’s Open Marist Basketball Team that will contest the Australian Marist Championships in Adelaide in March 2021.
Trials for the U/16 NSW Country Squads take place this weekend, again in Maitland, with a large contingent of Lismore basketballers heading down the Pacific Highway to try to impress.
A number of Trinity Catholic College’s basketballers will be in attendance as well as more than 20 athletes from the Lismore Basketball Association.
