Two NRRRL matches have been forfeited as clubs have been badly hit by the decision by the Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to close its border with New South Wales.
The NRRRL season has already been reduced to a 10-match competition before the border was closed early this morning.
Tweed Coast have informed the NRRRL the club is unable to field teams who need to travel to Mullumbimby for the Round 3 matches tomorrow. Murwillumbah have also announced it is unable to field teams who need to travel to Casino for the Round 3 matches tomorrow.
"Once again our competition has been effected by COVID-19, this time with the Queensland Border restrictions and closures," the NRRRL said on its Facebook page.
"As we all know, there is now a bubble which we need to abide by for our own well being which is based on where people live and work. We know that this is going to affect some clubs more than others which is outside our control."
Marist Brothers have lost three players brothers Dane and Hugh Pratt and Max Elliott for its match against Byron Bay at Crozier Field, Lismore, tomorrow afternoon. Byron Bay player/coach Todd Carney has remained in Queensland, along with a number of players. Byron Bay has forfeited its Reserve Grade fixture.

The NRRL said the two matches between Mullumbimby and Tweed Coast, and Casino and Murwillumbah, and the Reserve Grade match between Marist Brothers and Byron Bay will be treated as a draw under the COVID rules and as confirmed by NSWRL.
"Realising the impact this will have on clubs moving forward, we are working on a solution which will not impact any clubs over the next few weeks," the NRRRL said.
"We will reassess the situation should the Queensland government change any of their restrictions.
"We hope to release this to the clubs for their consideration by tomorrow morning and make the necessary adjustments on Monday."
