Giant lanterns will weave through Lismore Showgrounds this weekend when the 2021 lantern parade lights up Lismore.

Along with a procession of kids from local school, with their tiny lanterns, this year's even offers more than ever before. Unlike in previous years, the event begins in the daytime at 11am, with loads of events throughout the day.

The Lismore App has included a showground map so you can find the venues for each event.

Inspired by the theme of innovation, inspiration, regeneration, regeneration, a Regen Expo will be held in the William Smith Pavillion (at the top of the showground).

The Expo will showcase the work of some of our inspirational regional businesses and organisations, people who think outside the square and are all about innovation, regeneration and sustainable practices. The Expo is open 11am to 9pm.

You can also find out about Australian pollinators with Gardening Australia's favourite bearded gardener Costa Georgiardis.

Costa will be at the festival all afternoon and might even do a selfie with you, in between playing Grubby Buckets with ABC's Dirtgirl & Scrapboy.

Mememe Productions (producers of Dirtgirlworld) will be bringing their mobile internet ‘streamer’ live broadcast to the event.

The Alphastreamer will interview exhibitors in the Expo and visitors to the festival and bring a global audience to the Lismore event.

Alphastreamer will be on in the William Smith Pavillion at 12.30pm and 4pm.

There are plenty more treats on offer throughout the day, with lots for both kids and adults.
