There has been a two-car accident on the M1 causing the closure of one southbound lane approaching the Ewingsdale turnoff to Byron Bay.

Lismore App reader Kate said the accident is between Bluesfest and the Ewingsdale turnoff and the driver looked to be trapped in one vehicle.

Emergency Services, Transport for NSW and a tow truck are in attendance with heavy traffic in the southbound lanes.
