Tuesday Minor Flood Warning: Here's the latest

A further 28mm has fallen over our region in the last 24-hours which has kept some roads closed and others down to a single lane while the SES has released a summary of the minor flooding this morning.

The Leycester Creek catchment is rising above 4.62m at Tuncester; the rise is slow, having taken 30 hours to rise 3.0m. Rainfall has been between 25.0mm and 30.0mm over the past 24 hours. One small exception was Lillian Rock with 42.0mm. The smaller streams here seem to be draining well.

The Eastern catchment; Coopers Creek at Repentance again touched 3.0m at midnight, before receding to 2.60m. Rain at Repentance continues to be an unknown factor, but is not believed to be significant. At Corndale it crested at 7.40m and has dropped to 6.60m over the last 15 hours.

The Wilsons River at Nashua peaked below 8.0m and is now receding through 6.0m. This fall may be prolonged somewhat because of heavier rain, approx 75mm, has fallen at Huonbrook.

The Eltham gauge has maintained a height of 9.30m for 24 hours and is now showing signs of a decline.

At Woodlawn College, the river height has passed 6.10m and continues to rise. The Wilsons River reached a Minor Flood Height at Lismore of 4.20m around 03:00am today and continues to rise vary slowly.

The BoM has released its third warning for Lismore, whilst changing very little. It is still expected to reach 5.00m this afternoon.

The Lismore CBD Flood Gates are now closed, water inside the levee, has reached 4.50m. Planned pumping operations will easily cope with the current rainfall of less than 1mm per hour.

Generally, we have not, so far receiver the heavy rainfall which was predicted and fell in areas closer to the coast and to the North. Our catchment remains saturated and any further rainfall may still drastically have an effect on flooding here.
