The historic Trevan Ford site on Keen and Conway Streets has finally been sold.
SOLD stickers have gone up on the buildings window but who is the new owner?
Chris Harley Principal of Ray White Real Estate Lismore said the purchaser wished to remain anonymous for now.
"It is good to see there is still an interest in investing in Lismore," Chris said, "There is still strength in the city."
The site dates back to 1936 when a service station was built on the corner and later in 1937 RH Trevan had completed his purchase of the service station after buying a half share in 1936.
In 1947 the new Trevan Ford building began construction next to the service station and in 1948 nearly 2000 people turned up for the official opening of the new Ford dealership and service centre.

A family trust associated with Andrew Bing then purchased Trevan Ford from Bob Trevan in August 2005 and sold it to the Frizelle Group of companies in 2019.
The old Trevan Ford site is large with a number of buildings some of which have been leased on a small scale when the car dealership was moved to South Lismore.
We can only speculate about the new owner and their intentions for the land development in the future.
Whatever the short term contracts that will be finalised with the new owners, it does remain the perfect site for Lismore's first up market hotel or apartments. Sure, we have some wonderful motels and motor-inn's that have been servicing Lismore for a long time but as we upgrade our sporting facilities why not our accommodation?
The location is perfect for major sporting events at Oakes Oval or Crozier Field or to be part of the Lismore Lantern Parade. It is close to the CBD, the Lismore Workers Club and Heritage Park.
Only speculation but why can't we dream as this sale presents opportunities.
