22 people were injured in the accident, 8 seriously and two are still trapped. The scene was attended by 19 emergency vehicles.

We understand many have been transferred to Lismore Base Hospital.

Live Traffic is still reporting Tregeagle Road closed.

It is understood the accident involved two ADF trucks. There may be multiple injuries.

ORIGINAL STORY

Live Traffic is reporting a car accident on Tregeagle Road at Grennan Road about half way between Wyrallah and Tregeagle.

The sound of quite a few emergency vehicles echoed throughout Goonellabah at around 5:40pm.

Tregeagle Road is closed in both directions.

Transport for NSW is asking people to delay non-essential travel, and to avoid the area.
