Locals using the Bruxner Highway to Ballina will experience some delays from 7 o'clock tonight as essential maintenance is carried out at Wollongbar.
To reduce impacts to motorists, work near Kays Lane will be carried out overnight from 7pm to 3am today (Sunday 22) and Monday 23 January for vegetation removal, mulching and shoulder grading and is expected to be complete by 3am on Tuesday 24 January, weather permitting.
Similar work west of Sneaths Road will be carried out overnight from 7pm on Tuesday 24 January to 3am on Wednesday 25 January, weather permitting.
A single lane, alternate traffic flow with traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during work hours for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to allow up to five minutes extra travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
