The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) has declared a total fire ban has been declared for the Far North Coast tomorrow.
Fire crews are still fighting to contain fires in the Richmond Valley area and NSW RFS said elevated temperatures and lower humidity will likely cause fire to challenge containment lines in some areas of the Busbys Flat Road.
"The fire which has a perimeter of 261 km (that's the distance by road from Casino to the Sunshine Coast QLD)," a NSW RFS statement said,
"Add this perimeter to the Long Gully Rd. Fire in Drake, which has joined with the western end of Busby's Rd - and it's a greater perimeter still.
"With such a broad area of landscape to contain and patrol, the risk of fire escape is still high.
"As we move through the next few days of elevated fire danger, we need you, the community to be our eyes and ears.
"If you spot a new fire (or re-ignition that poses a risk) without a fire ruck in attendance please call triple zero '000' immediately."
