Three FNC players named for CockatoosBen Damon has again been named in the NSW Country Cockatoos squad.

Three Far North Coast Rugby Union players have been named in the NSW Country Cockatoos squad.

All three backline players have been a part of the Cockatoos side in previous years and know what it takes to play at the Australian Rugby Shield.

Wollongbar Alstonville's Ben Damon has previously captained the side and has been a major part of the country side for many years.

Alex Gibbon, who currently plays for Richmond Range and played his junior football at Wollongbar has again made the side after returning to the region after a stint in the Shute Shield in Sydney.

The third member of the Far North Coast contingent is Vincent Quigley, who plays halfback for the Mullumbimby Moonshiners.

The 2024 edition of the Australian Rugby Shield will be played from 2nd-6th October in Caloundra on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

In other Rugby news, the NSW Waratahs will be visiting the FNC region in August, with Charlie Gamble and Lalakai Foketi making appearances over a three day period.

The pair will attend games in Bangalow and Lennox Head on Saturday 3 August, they will launch Trytag in Lismore on Sunday 4 August and then attend St Mary's College in Casino on Monday 5 August.

The initiative by NSW Rugby Union will see Waratahs players head out to country regions to promote the game with local Development Officers.
