Third man charged over alleged stabbing of Casino teenager

Strike force detectives have charged a third man as investigations continue into the alleged stabbing death of a teenage boy in Casino earlier this year.

About 1.20am on Saturday (25 June 2022), emergency services were called to a home on McDougall Street, Casino, following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers from Richmond Police District located a 17-year-old with stab wounds to his neck. Despite efforts from responding police and NSW Ambulance paramedics, he died at the scene.

Officers established Strike Force Linford to investigate the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.

Two men – both aged 18 – have been charged and remain before the courts.

Following further investigations, a 47-year-old man attended Lismore Police Station yesterday (Wednesday 9 November 2022), where he was arrested by strike force detectives.

He was charged with accessory after the fact to murder, and conceal serious indictable offence.

The man was refused bail and appeared before Lismore Local Court yesterday, where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Monday 14 November 2022.

Investigations by Strike Force Linford detectives continue.

Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Linford investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
