The weather will be sunny and 25 degrees with the track predicted to be a good 4, now all that the Lismore Turf Club needs are the patrons to make Thursday's running of the 44th Lismore Cup a huge success.

According to Secretary Manager of the Lismore Turf Club Scott Jones the crowd will be around the 1100 or 1200 mark depending on the amount of owners that turn up.

"We are virtually sold out," Scott said, "There are only about 50 VIP tickets left so the stage is set for a great day out."

"I think people are excited to finally have a social event on the calendar that they can go to."

During race day there will be 10 COVID Marshals and 10 Security Guards reminding people of this years COVID regulations. These are to buy your drinks and food then head straight back to your table to eat or drink your purchases.

"If everyone plays their part there is no reason why we can't do more events in the future," Scott added.

The benefit of Thursday's race day will be felt through other businesses that have been hard hit by the coronavirus.

For local company Events Party Hire this is their first big event since March and only their third job following two small weddings recently. Owner Greg Jeromson saying

it's not as big as last year but it does get some money through the door in what has been a hugely challenging year."

Local cleaners, large big screen providers and fashion stores will also benefit greatly from the running of this years Lismore Cup.
