I write this mornings first story from Cafe Capello in the CBD after a night of minimal rain which has allowed the CBD to recover enough for most businesses to either begin the clean-up or operate as usual.

The road closures are along Dawson Street from Trinity down to Rural Street and the short bit of Uralba Street between The Square and Dawson Street.
You can see where the water marks got up to at the Caltex on the corner of Dawson & Woodlark Streets.
Businesses like JonTom were sweeping out the yard in preparation for 72 cars that will be brought back to the lot throughout the day.
Restaurants like Uncle Lims will also be working around the clock today to be ready for lunch, dinners and Christmas parties for the next week.
East Lismore was clear this morning after Wyrallah Road saw a torrent of water flowing down it yesterday afternoon.

The Bureau of Meteorology have said Wilsons River peaked last night at 8pm and river levels are now falling.
The forecast for today is for more showers becoming less likely this afternoon so it does look as though we are in for some relief today although there is the chance of a thunderstorm.
Now we can wait for the rest of the water to slowly recede and for council to fix the many potholes that have appeared.
