A cracking weekend coming up Lismore with coolish mornings (13 tomorrow!) and a maximum of 30 degrees both days. No excuse not to get out and about and enjoy what the Northern Rivers has to offer.
First up today, a reminder about the Lismore City Council events coming up in March:
As we heard yesterday, the quality of cricketers coming to Lismore for the 20/20 at Oakes oval is outstanding. Cricketing greats like Ricky Ponting, Chris Lynn, Jason Gillespie, Michael Kasprowicz, Andy Bichel, Dan Christian, Steve O’Keefe, Stuart MacGill, Stuart Clark and Jimmy Maher with more names to come. So, it is Mayor Steve Krieg's 11 versus local legend Adam Gilchrist's 11. There will be local and up-and-coming cricketers playing too.
Art fans will be in raptures as there are four exhibitions on at the moment.
Flame of Power is at the Lismore Regional Gallery Pop-up space at 46 Magellan Street. Dreams, Myths and Reflections is at the Serpentine Gallery, Hairy Arms and Bloody Noses is at Flourish Art in South Lismore and if you want to travel to the coast for half a day Blossoms and Birds is at the Lennox Art Collective. Check out the details in our What's On button in Things To Do What's On.
No Sunday Market this week as the Lismore Car Boot Market is still pondering its return but we do have the Lismore Farmers Market tomorrow (Saturday) at the Lismore Showground between 8am and 11:30am. Plenty of fresh fruit and Veg, breakfast options, coffee and tea with live music from Cheese 'n' Crackers.
Sunday does have an event locally, the Lismore Rainforest Botanic Garden Guided Walk. This month it involves the Useful Plants Garden. To get involved, meet at the Visitors Centre at 9:15am for a 9:30 start. Gold coin donation is your entry fee. You will find the Botanic Gardens at the same gates as the Lismore Recycle Centre (tip), just look for the signs to turn off to the right after the gates.
For all the sports highlights and results check out our Sports page with Matt Barlow Sport.
Cheap Petrol Friday is here to save you some money if you need to fill up for the weekend:
Fuel prices have not moved in the last seven days with the same service stations the cheapest in the region.
Have a great weekend!
