The stage is set for 2022 Lismore ShowThe Lismore Show is ready to open at 9am tomorrow.

The final touches were being made to the 2022 North Coast National Norco Lismore Show this afternoon.

The flags were being erected, sideshow alley was all but complete, the poultry, cattle and horses were arriving, workers in the circus tent were busy, business stalls were being built and the judging for the annual show events like best cake, best jam, best bonsai was either happening or had happened earlier in the day.

As for the weather, it will be wet Lismore so wear your blundstones or wellies and take a raincoat or umbrella. As they say in the classics "the show must go on" and besides, as a community, we have seen much more rain than will occur over the next three days.

Plus don't forget, it is a FREE gate so go for an hour, go for four. It doesn't matter, just go.

This year's Lismore Show has only been in planning for the last three or four months as the North Coast National Committee were unsure whether the ground and buildings would be in good enough shape to run the hugely popular public event of this size.

It has been an outstanding success for President John Gibson and his team of volunteers who have worked feverishly to bring all the elements together in that short time.

"I think it's looking all right. Depending on the weather, of course, that'll be around," said John.

"If you have a look through the pavilions we've got very good entries up there. The TURSA art prize is been judged today, entries are not as high but there's good quality there."

(Robert Williams and Dick Withers were judging the Bonsai Tree entrants)

"The pavilions are basically full and we've got plenty of food, sideshow alley is set up, the cattle are coming in, the chooks are coming in, we've got the championship woodchips and then we've got the entertainment like the circus, the FMX bikes and we've got the parade on Friday night which is creating a lot of interest."

"I think it's very important that we do come together and talk and honour those that have done so much over the last few months. I think it does show that Lismore has got a heart."
