Sophie and Jaiden Santin are following in their father's footsteps and cementing themselves in the speedway fraternity.

Father Mick has been racing speedway for many years and is happy to support his children's passion for the sport.

"Dad helps us a lot, he does so much for us and is always helping us with our driving, and he is the reason we are doing so well." Sophie said.

Sophie is currently competing in the NewStars category (10-13 years) of the Junior Sedans and is starting to fill the trophy cabinet.

"I have had two first placing in Lismore, two weeks ago I won in Maryborough beating 19 other cars and last week we went to Kingaroy where I finished third," Sophie said.

"I have been driving well and I hope it continues in Lismore."

"I have had a Feature win in Lismore and hope to add to it again this weekend," Jaiden said.

"I had a fourth in Maryborough two weeks ago and another fourth in Kingaroy last weekend.

"Next weekend we are in Grafton and last time we went down there I had a win, so hopefully I can do that again."

Jaiden was disappointed to miss out on the National Junior Sedan Title earlier in the year.

"We were heading to Collie in Western Australia for the National Title in January but we got turned around at Ceduna in South Australia due to bushfires which had closed the highways. It was disappointing after such a long drive and we thought we had a good chance," he said.

"Hopefully we can do it all again soon."
