A stroll through the grassy areas of The Quad or a lazy lunch under a tree will have to be postponed as Lismore City Council begins restoration work on the public space.
Temporary site fencing has been installed around The Quad in preparation.
Access from the Harold Fredericks car park to Keen Street and vice versa will remain open throughout the works via designated pedestrian walkways, highlighted in green on the map below. These walkways are two metres wide.

Council says The Quad will undergo improvements to drainage, landscaping, pedestrian pathways and public amenities to provide an accessible and welcoming greenspace within our CBD.
The parking area in front of the Library on Magellan Street will be reserved for construction vehicles during the construction period.
The Quad is being restored in conjunction with works occurring at the Lismore Regional Gallery and Lismore Library to minimise disruption to the community and users of these spaces.
These sites are being restored under the Community and Cultural Assets Restoration Program, supported with funding from the NSW Government. Works are being carried out in conjunction with Bennett Construction.
The estimated completion date is June 2024, subject to weather. Updates on the project will be posted on the Flood restoration - Buildings, Parks and Facilities page at
