The hunt is on for more referees

Football Far North Coast has put a call out for more referees for their competitions in 2026.

In communication sent to all clubs, Football FNC stated, "This is another Call to Arms, hoping that more individuals (especially adults) will respond positively to the perennial needs to recruit, retain and support more match officials."

A brief overview of the steps to gain accreditation:

  • An individual candidate must be aged at least 13 and must complete the six basic online (free) Laws of the Game modules.
  • The candidate then works through four further comprehensive online modules (cost of $33).
  • The candidate registers and subsequently completes a practical session (cost $150* TBC by Northern NSW Football for 2026).
  • Match Officials register with Football Far North Coast each season when their accreditation is confirmed.
  • Match Officials are appointed to appropriate-level fixtures in 2026.

NOTE: A candidate must have at least commenced the online modules before attending a practical session, which is to be held:

Sunday 30 November 2025

Saunders Oval Ballina

Practical course 1

Time: 9 am - 12 pm

For information about how to get started with your accreditation, information can be found on each of the Football Far North Coast and Northern NSW Football websites.

Note that FFNC will reimburse the $183 cost of the course back to accredited match officials after they officiate ten (10) fixtures in 2026.

Enquiries are invited to referees@ffnc.net.au
